Normal, it's just your clutch, (Radiator) fan. It stays locked up until it warms up. Mine takes 500 to 1000 feet of driving to loosen. The big roar is the fan.

Ya, That roar got me the first time as well. It is realy loud. But if it works I am happy. I have to drive a couple of miles for mine to unlock.

Since your new and I noticed your truck is out of warranty, assuming you just purchased the truck make sure the trans fluid is changed every 30,000 miles, just in case you didn't know.

Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.

Got H.O. ?

When changing your fluid go with the Amsoil ATF, it has 3 times the life of petroleum fluid.
