to fly through the air. Well I found out this wednesday. I was rididng my biketo one of my classes at USF and out of nowhere comes a big old volvo...next thing I know I am doing a barrel roll through the air. It was crazy...everyone was trying to find out if i was ok and I was just lying in the road thinking "I can't believed this happened to me". Nothing was broken, I wasn't wearing a helmet but somehow my back pack flew up under my head and I landed with my head on my back pack. I am mostly scabbed over now but i just thought it would be interesting to share.

Nothing beats what my friend did when we were kids. He was on his huffy, coming over to my house, when HE hit a car. He was in a rush, pedaling fast, when he looked down for a brief second to get that burst of speed, and hit the car from behind. He went right through the back windshield. What had happen was that the car pulled out from an adjacent street doing about 10mph, but Dave was doing about 30mph when he hit the Oldsmobile. Flew threw the air, and ended up in the back seat of the car.

Oh boy...i have so many and i'm only 16 years old...i'v been ran over by a car on a bicycle, which made me flew in the air and land on top of the car and rolled over on the asphalt. Hmm, i'v extreme rollerbladed down a super steep hill goin bout 35 mph and the friend in front of me started wobbling his legs and he trip and flew and fell. I tried to steer out of the way but my right leg hit his arm(while he was still rolling) which made me break his wrist and made me fall and fly and roll. I'v almost be ran over by a school bus..lol......ah that's enough for today.

Ow, guys.....(hope you're ok Jon, by the way..)
Worst one I've seen-actually, I just saw the aftermath... girl doing 94 on a Katana t-bones a Toyota p-up. Flipped the truck up on it's side, blew both the airbags and nearly cut the truck in half. Pieces of her bike(and her) were all over..they found her hand in a tree 40 yds away. The suit on the scene said she was 5'9" tall on her DL...the body they picked up was 3'2", from the neck base down to the tarsal extremity (toes.)
The license plate on the bike said "GOOSE IT."
In the wrong place at the wrong time....

Ick, the local sherrif's son gibbed himself like that a few years ago too. He was going ~120 on a road and a truck pulled in front of him. They didn't even get that 3'2" body, just lots of parts. Street bikes are too damn easy to just punch it in.

The worst one I know about happened to a guy on his street bike in southern California. My friend was the investigating Deputy. The guy on the bike lost control in a turn because of his speed, and flew off the road. The road had a small ditch and in the ditch was a telephone pole with guy wires anchored to the ground. Basically the wire acted as a cheese cutter and decapitated the rider. His body launched into a nearby tree and his head turned up missing. Three days later a passerby noticed something funny looking near the top of the pole. The rider's head was impaled on one of those metal spikes that they use as a ladder rung. None of the on scene emergency personnel thought to look up for the guy's head.

Funny story, I want to get a bike. Not a crotch rocket cuz like xplikt says it is just too easy to punch it. I want to get a cruiser to ride around on. Back road cruisin and stuff, no funny business. :) Anyways, you would figure that getting hit by a car would change my mind but not really.
