Subject: Almost lunched a maxima.

Last nite I'm driving home from work. It's a little later than normal and traffic is unusually light. I'm on Sunset blvd headed west about a mile east of Beverly Glen where I turn left. Anyway, I'm driving along minding my own business in the left lane and I notice the car up in front of me going slow. No problem, I will just move to the right lane and pass him. I'm not driving fast, maybe 40-45. There is a car in the right lane too but he is well in front of the car I want to pass and appears to be going the same speed as me. As I go a little further, this car in front of me on the right ( a Maxima) sees what I'm trying to do and naturally starts to slow way down so I will be stuck behind both of them. So now I get back to the left behind the original car because now he is going faster than the Maxima (but still slow). I slowly go by the Maxima (one of these drivers with the seat reclined way back and can barely see over his own steering wheel) just as I'm about to change lanes to the right to get in front of the Maxima, he now speeds up to block me. So now I see this guy just wants to play games so I squirt it a little and get in front of him. Now he's pissed and is tailgating me. I move back to the left lane and instead of trying to pass me, he just stays RIGHT on my bumper. So I figure I'll give this guy a run. I thought it was a fair race, yeah my truck has more power but it was a curvy section. We come out of a sweeping banked right hand curve and I'm pulling away from him in a major way. The road starts going uphill and there is a left turn (not real sharp, but we were going fast). I start to back off for the curve and now he moves to the right lane. I'm thinking, 'if you want to pass me on the outside, go for it'. He tries to pass on the outside and is going way too fast and his car slides out and slams into the curb on the right. He lost all his momentum and I just left him in my dust going up the hill. I hope he did damage to his tires and wheels scarfing the curb like that. Maybe he'll think twice before playing games with the next guy. Anyway, sorry for the long post. It just felt good to smoke off some jerk.

Holy hell, that's nuts. What an idiot. I also ask, what kind of moron would tailgate a truck in a sedan. That's a good way to total your (sedan) engine if you ask me -- especially if you have a hitch.

The Maxima is front wheel drive isn't it? Because if so, he probably did some major damage to the front wheel drive system. My friend slid into a curb in his Jetta, and we're talking like 5-10mph, and it caused about $700 in damage. On top of that his car never ran the same again.

When will people learn:

Tailgating trucks only makes them unable to notice that anything is behind them.

Glad ta hear he screwed up, I hate when people try to act stupid on the road like that. When @ssholes tailgate me I'll slow to damn near a stop if they don't go around me. Oh and when there in front of me playing games, he he he they get blinded by the 4300k krypton blues and to top that off, I lay on the horn...... until they get out of my way LOL
