 Subject: Which trans do I have

I have a 98 Dakota, club cab, 4wd with a 5.3 auto.
Last time I went for a trans filter, the counter guy told me there were two trans available and which one did I have. Anyone know how to determine which one I have ?

if its a 98 5.2(318) its a 44re. does the trans pan have a dogleg in the front right corner? if so its a 44re. if not its a 44rh.

I think if it's not moved it tells you under your hood.
