What size speakers are in the 2001 Dakotas, I called my dealer and they didnt have a clue??? I believe they are 6.5" but not sure.

6.75" is what I"ve seen. Best Buy has one model in this size, made by Pioneer, about $120/pr.

Yeah they're the oversized 6.5 or 6.75 THANKS, but hey I dont have automatic windows :( BIG MISTAKE, anyways, I cant figure out how to get the door panel off to change the speakers, cause the window knob is in the way, anyone able to help?

All that is holding the door handles on are snap pins. You should be able to pop the handles off and then remove the door paneling. It's pretty easy.

for years D/C has used a screw inthe center of the window knob, it might be hiding under a snap or glued on cover. There are at least 4 scews holding the interior door panel on my '97 so be careful to get them all.
