 Subject: Mysterious noise

I drive a 98 5.2L 4x4 Dakota, with a noise that I can't figure out and niether can the dealership. The best way that I can describe it is that it sounds like something between an exhaust leak and a engine ping. Laying underneath the truck it sounds like it is coming right from where the two pipes meet in the "Y". The dealer replaced the manifolds, Y pipe and cat, but no change in the noise. They just gave up pretty much. A Dodge Tech said it was normal exhaust noise resinating in the pipes. I can see that, but this noise seems to be louder than "normal," I mean I hate to get on it at the lights beacause it sounds like crap. Can anyone help me out on this one.
