Actually they have to nickel plate the wheel first then they crome plate the nickel. Crome will not stick to aluminum this why they must nickel plate first. You should look in the back of Car&Driver, Road & Track ...... There are companys that do this and advertise in the classified sections of the magazine. I really doubt that you will find anyplace in Kansas that does this! Last time I was in Kansas their realy was not a whole lot of anything other than sunflowers, cattle, coyotee's and Hookers! This is realy a service that tends to be big on either coast in bigger cities.

I'm originally from Topeka, but live in KC now. There's an outfit in Topeka called Industrial Plating and Chrome...they've been in business a long time, and probably could give you some advice. There's also several plating and coating outfits here in the KC area...just look in the Yellow pages under Plating and make a few calls. Much to people's surprise, we have pretty much everything here that the dirty, crime infested, snobbish, polluted big coast cities have...plus clean air, good schools, and 20 minute commutes to work. But, that's OK, we like our secret...keeps the crowds thinned out and the roads clear.

ON the Chrome plating. I called ever place in the KC aria. There is a totaly diff prosses and it takes special equip. That is what every place told me. They all told me Cali, or Colorado were the places that youe have peopel that do it.

Hey guys I realy do not have anything against Kansas. I was just trying to have some fun. With that said Junction city was the only place that I ever had a hooker jump on our car. My Dad was driveing, my Mom was up front and I was in the back seat. We stoped at a light and next thing I knew their was a half naked woman on the hood of the car and rubbing her self all over the window AND SWEARING ALOT. So please spare me the no-crime in Kansas speech. Most of the freaks in big citys come from small towns!!!

Sandman...LOL, yeah, I forgot about Junction City! It's got a reputation even here in Kansas. It's the home of Fort Riley...the Big Red One...a jillion Army guys crammed into a town of about 35,000 or so, so the hooker-per-thousand percentage is a little over the top. I used to drive through J.C. on the way to Abilene, and I never had anything like that happen to me, though...some people have all the luck!
Didn't mean to give the impression that we're crime free...far from it, but life in general is a little less paranoid than many places. No offense taken, I've never been anywhere in the USA that I hated...just some that I preferred over others...
Dakota657, sorry to hear that you struck out...I don't know anything about chrome plating, so I don't know how involved it is to do what you're looking for. Might just be cheaper to get new wheels, and sell yours.

You could always try the Dodge dealer, they asked if I wanted my rims chromed when I first bought my R/T about a year ago.
Yea, stay out of Kansas. We don't need more people :) I was born in Houston Tx and lived there for many years, I say Wichita, Ks is a way better place to live. I also have lived in Europe for a few years, mostly in Greece on a island. I do like Austin, but it's population growth has exceeded it's room. Don't dog a place without trying it first.

I agree I can not think of any place that was any worse then any other here in the U.S.A. with the advent of the internet!!!! I have to admit that some spots do offer more to do then other places once the sun sets. I have setteled down alot as I have aged but I still really do not care for small towns. My wife is from a town of 1000 people and I hate visiting that place. THe town she is from they roll the side walk's up at 6:00 PM sharp! My Dad was with the Big Red 1 in Ft. Riely. I always took things like stores being opened 24 hours a day and being able to find anything my heart desired 24/7 for granted. They have to drive an hour and a half at 75 MPH just to go to a mall. You have to drive 1 hour to get fresh fruit and vegtables etc... Her mom drives 2 1/2 hours to get fabrics for makeing clothes. I would have ran away at 16 in that type of enviroment.
