The buzz reported today that it is possible that
Dodge will replace the R/T model in 2005. The
new replacement will be the SRT-8 Hemi.
Modeled after it's big brother the SRT-10 Ram.
Start saving your money guys!!!!!!!

I am with you Clevite! I highly doubt this will be a 4x4 truck as the SRT-10 is only available in a 4x2 model, stands to reason the Dakota will be very similar.

I'd like to see them turn it into a Syclone like package or have one available.

They put the hemi in the Dakota and it will be more than a Cyclone. Be more like a class 4 Tornado and with some mods from the owner will be a class 5 Tornado. Boy I'de sure like to twin turbo that bad boy. I would proudly display a big sticker in the rear window that says in big bold letters

YOU AINT BAD ENOY TO RACE THIS

What I ment by "Syclone like" was an AWD sport oriented setup.

The ram SRT-10 is a regular cab only model just like the ford lightning. I would guess that the Dakota SRT-8 will be a RC. Hell at least chevy's new SS is an extended cab with AWD.

If you want AWD, extended cab, and 345 HP like the Chevy SS just go pay $10,000 less and get a 2003 Ram 2500 Quad Cab. Funny Chevy's long awaited, top dog pickup, is equal to any run of the mill, 2500 series Ram!

Anyone see the RAM commercial abotu the Hemi yet? I saw it for the first time yesterday (Heh, when do I have time to breath, let alone watch TV?) Anyway, Dodge Ram towing a Charger on a trailer. Couple of guys roll up in some car and ask if it's got a Hemi in it (looking at Charger). The guy thinks about it and says yes, at which point they start revving their engine. He just walks away from them. At the next light they pull up and he says, "Did you mean the Charger? It's got a hemi in it too"

Not a bad idea Robert, but man, after seeing the new Ram commercials with the Ram 2500 4x4 with the Hemi in it, I am ready to trade in and get that. Now I just need some donations from all of you nice folks to make that happen!

I know what ya mean Bill, I've scrapped the whole AWD Hemi Dakota Idea, Now I want a 4x4 quad cab Hemi Ram. I hated the looks of them when they first came out, but now I just think they're awesome looking, not to mention I really like all the extra room they have, plus It would pull my boat a lot better than my 4.7L. But with 21,300 miles on my truck in just 10 months I'll really loose my ass on my truck if I trade it in now, so as soon as I can get some "equity" in my truck, she's gone..... Probly a couple years

I've got my Dakota paid off, but I really hate to trade it in only being a little over a year old, and right now the Ram is a little more than I can afford or need. If I do test drive the Ram, I will let you know what I think (i'm sure I'll hate it-NOT!)
