Ok, first thing, what is the best foglights i can get for easy install and good looks out there. I thought about this pilot custom light kits from AutoAccessory.com for the 97-up daks.

And second, i want more power in my truck, i'm thinking either a FIPK, or a V8 Tb, now, i really have no experience with this stuff, and i live in Tn, between Jackson and Memphis. I also have no idea about installing these, so, if there is a guy around here who could help, that would work great, if not, help me if you can. Oh, and my specs are 98' Dakota, 3.9L V6 magnum. I have a Ravin' muffler, but engine is stock. OH, and i also have a Robert Shaw 180 degree thermostat and the Autolight plugs too sitting in my room waiting to go in my truck, yet, i have no engine experience at all. I'm learning but still a novice here. I'm taking pics of my dak right now so i can show yall so i'll have it posted today.

I have pilot fogs on my truck. They are not custom made for the Dakota, they are just regular old 4" diameter fogs, which is what the factory lights are. You can check out pics on my website, they were really cheap and can be bought at any auto store.

Oh yea, i tried looking for that a couple weeks ago about your fog lights, no luck at Autozone and O'Reillys...ah well.

Ok, i went by a Dodge dealer today(only one in town) and asked how much it would cost for them to install 6 plugs, they say 40 bucks, then i ask them what about the thermostat, they say, about same cost as plugs. So it would round up about 80 bucks, a whole lot cheaper than the local autoshop i went to earlier. So what yall think.

Also, i'm setting up my pics on my comp right now, i will post link to it in a min.

Drew - I just finished installing my v8 tb. I also have a Intense Performance intake. Get yourself both an intake and tb. The combination of the intake, tb and exhaust will compliment each other to give you the most gains. There is nothing to the installs - if you can turn a wrench, you can do it. The key is just to take your time and pay attention to what your doing.

Nice pics on the webpage drew. Sorry to hear you weren't able to find the fog lights, I think I got mine at an Advanced Auto Parts store, they had a bunch of them. The spark plugs are no problem to install. Just take your time, gap them right (you will need a spark plug gapper) and do them one at a time so you get the right wire put back on the right plug. I haven't done the t-stat install so i don't know how the job is on that one. From what everybody has said, the V8 tb install is easy to.

drew...where'd you get the ravin sticker??? i didnt get one when i got my setup....scammed!!!

anyway....dude....save your 80 bucks....a dog could change sparkplugs and a t-stat. all you need is a socket set and maybe an extension for your ratchet to get the plugs in/out (not sure about the setup on the 3.9) get some anti seize compound at a parts store (probably cost you a buck) to put on the threads of your plugs. any more questions feel free to ask. i have no knowledge either and i did both of those mods in about an hour. be happy to help.

Your right, i could probably do the spark plugs myself, but i'm not so sure about the t-stat. Btw, what is the anti-seize for and how do you put it on?

Where did you do your muffler installation?? I did mine at Midas and they pulled the muffler from the box and the stickers came with it in the box and the mechanic gave it to me. I got like 3 stickers...

Hey drew how does that ravin muffler sound on your v-6. I have heard a few people on here that have it say that they love it. Is it a good deep tone. Is it really loud or just kinda medium? Mills it looked like u said you have one too, what are your inputs on the ravin muffler?

HUH? WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU!

drew...basically anti-seize just keeps the plugs from corroding and getting stuck in your engine (which obviously is bad). allyou do is smear it on the threads of the new plugs andyour set (a little goes a long way)

livedak - yes i got the ravin on my 4.7. it is awesome (in my opinion) sound is deep and loud when you get on it, but once up to speed it is a quiet drone. definitely can turn some heads when you want it to. in conjunction with my intake the muffler gave me a kick in the pants for sure. i lost a little low end when i first put on the intake (a while back) but its back now with the exhaust, and she pulls hard once up to about 3,000 rpms.

oh, and it has a lifetime warranty.

hope that helps

lol, that was mills talking, i have the raven too. And i must say i love it. It has definitely added some power to my truck and better gas milage. I got mine installed at Midas for 90 bucks, this includes the muffler. The reason it's so cheap becuase i got the muffler only, didn't get new pipes, kept my stock pipes. I love the sound of it, good idle too even for a 3.9L V6. I say go for it. And yes, it has lifetime warranty. I recommend Midas, they do cheap good installation. Labor was only $20.00
