Well I don't have a R/T so I don't know if the front tires are the same size as the back.

But with any vehicle that does, normaly you would rotate the tires from front to back to make the ware even on all 4 tires.

I beleve the tire tread on any given tire is 1/8 or 1/16 of a inch. Anything lower you will have to replace the tire. I'm not 100% sure though.

Hope I helped yuh.........

i have only put about 2,000 miles on my truck this year so i havent really noticed any tread wear. My brother has a R/T also and when he got it it had about half of the tread left before needing to replace them. he has put about 15,000-20,000 miles on it and homeboy is just about riding around on slicks !!!!

3k miles on my 4.7CC and I was down to the wear bars and I banned myself from making any more pavement darker.... Then at 8k I was down to slicks (>1/32 of tread at the deepest portion) and I replaced them then. I did not rotate though. my fronts went in the back at 25k when the new rears were worn and these lasted till about 60K...

Doesn't sound like you are abusing the power to me...

Put it like this you will probably not get much over 20K on a set of tires if you like to have fun. My RSAs went south after 15K, the BFG Scorchers are holding up better but the traction is not what I want. I will get me some Nittos next.

to check when you need new tires a good way to do this is to use a penny turn it upside down and put in the tread grooves when lincoln's head is visible it's time for new tires.

Or simply use common sense and look at the wear bars on the tire.

they say (who?) that if you stick a penny upside down in the tread and you can see the top of Lincolns head, then it will not pass inspection.

As for changing the tires, I change them when they hit the wear bars. Its not the racing that makes them wear, its those constant little peel outs you are doing at every stop sign/light and corner
