Subject: Painted Calipers & Drums (pics)
IP: Logged

Message:
I finally painted my calipers & drums, they came out excellent. And at the same time I rotated my tires everything in total took about 2.5 hrs to do.
This little mod really improves the whole look of the vehicle.
If anyone is interested in doing the same, my site has step by step instructions.

Check out his site, he has a good page on the job. Looks like he just used a rust proof paint. Let us know how it holds up Anthony.

It's been holding up great so far Bill. The paint is only acouple of days old, if there was to be a problem it should have started peeling or chipping from the heat by now when it's still fresh. Once the paint has enough time to properly cure it should be stuff as steel!!!

I've read other used rust paint without a problem, I had left over high temp blue spray paint. But I wanted to brush it on instead, it alot cleaner looking and faster to do it my way.

Thanks,
Anthony

Hey anthony, is that paint something you can get at the local parts store or did you have to special order it?

You can get this paint at home depot Kylon makes a rust paint and there's Rustnoluem(sp?) which is good too. The stuff I used is only sold here in Canada, it's called Tremclad rust paint. Make sure to read the label, that it states there's NO need for a primer. Then you know you have the good stuff.
