Subject: 2000 4x4 wheel bearings
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm getting a very small vibration through the steering wheel which goes away when turning left but gets a little worse when turning right. I'm supsecting the left wheel bearing is going bad, but with only 44,000 miles on it that would be surprising. Any recommendations on what it could be or what to look for? And from searching the forum it looks like you can't replace the bearing, true or not?

Thanks
Bret

I have the 2000 shop manual, and it says on page 3-20
"NOISE AND/OR VIBRATION IN TURNS
Damaged outer C/V or inner tripod jointseal, boot or seal boot clamps. this will result in loss of joint grease, resulting in inadequate lubrication of the joint.
A place to start anyway. Nottie
