Subject: First Statements of Guest Riders?
IP: Logged

Message:
What is the first Statement that people make when entering your truck for the first time? Total Strangers generally.

Males: I get "Awesome Truck" followed with several tight nods, "This Truck is BAD ASS", said through very large grin, followed with "good mornin'", "Thanks for the ride, This Truck is Tight" with large smile looking around the interior.

Females: "Good Morning, thanks, you have a beautiful Truck"

This may be related to where I'm at, but who knows.
This never fails, always the same thing day after day. Here in a military community it takes a while for your vehicle to be shipped from the USA, so we have a shuttle bus stop in housing and 2 miles to main base, and most generally residents stop and give rides to the GI's or Family members that are waiting for the shuttle. (No one wants to ride the bus, and is sympathetic) So almost every day, being a good neighbor, I pick up someone waiting. And that's what I get in Return.

I get the same responses, and oddly enough sometimes doing the same thing here at Spang D. The other one I usually get is: "Dude, this truck sounds awesome!".

I get the same kinds of compliments here. Women tend to call the truck "beautiful", "pretty", and I've had a number of "cutes." I'm sure they won't have called it cute when Im at the carwash pressure washing mud off for half hour straight LOL. Guys will always ask me "so how much have you haul with it?", and they compliment the stereo. :)

I knew what that meant but I jokingly with her said.

"I'm not sure Let try it right now!"

I am generally pretty conservative when I drive with other people in the truck, and if you just drive it "nicely" nobody would ever guess at it's potential. Since I don't usually give strangers a ride in my truck, the people that do ride in it usually know something about it before they get in.

The one I always get is:

"You RACE this? It's too quiet to go fast"

Then generally followed somewhere down the road is:

"Oh My God!"
"They let you drive this on the street?"
"How many tickets have you gotten with it?"

I've never seen a truck so clean
Love the hood
nice seats lots of room
Is this a truck or SUV
WOW man this things got some POWER
This thing has a V-8?
Love the color
and a funny one I got the other day was from a older man. he said whats the world coming to when you put air scoops on trucks. Then after The ride home he said I see yor point the is not a normal truck runs good.

Spangdahlem is good, busy. Getting ready to catch the overflow when they close Rhein Main. Getting our new runway in March. Just have the 2 F-16 squadrons and one A-10 squadron. The F-15's left in 98. Were you stationed here? You'll remember this motto if you were...

Well, i get some good and bad comments. The worst comment i really hated was a Ranger owner calling my dakota a "Dorkota"....it really pissed me off, i wanna key his truck so bad. He calls himself a "serious racer"...he has a manual 4-cylinder engine for christ's sake. When i grow up,(i'm 16), i'm gonna want two truck, a 4x4 truck off-road dakota, and a street dakota. Better start saving up money now...hehe. But, i'v gotten a couple nice compliments, like "nice sound system", "you got some thump goin on in there!", "nice lookin truck", etc, etc...

I get a lot of looks. I think it's because of my exhaust mostly. You can hear my truck from a quarter mile plus coming and I've been told that in the country my truck could be clearly heard up to 2 miles away. I also thing the fact that from the front There are only a few colors showing. The chrome grill, white "ROAD KING" and the rest is black. I also like to check out all of the daks. I also hate the death stares. Mostly there people who thing that I believe I'm the "ROAD KING"(folks it's a bike) and those who've copied off of me and think they're better.

Duner that's great, gotta love a sleeper. :)

Well I used to hang out at the pool hall all the time and gave people a ride home all the time. First they'd say thats a bad ass truck. Then they get in and ask how I afford it at which point I just say, "I work." Then they look behind the seat and see all the stereo equipment and just say "D@MN!" Then I start it and their eyes get big and they just look at me. When I get to the road I calmly tell them to hold on and they look at me and go, "huh?" Then I stomp the gas and start to light up the tires and go up the road sideways and they usually just scream a lot and then laugh. If at some point I turn the stereo on they just hold thier ears and thier mouth moves but I can't hear what they're saying anyway. And I start playing a dvd or hand them a PS2 controller that just say, "you gotta be kidding me" or "oh sh!t."

Thanks I really appreciate the help. I'm going to Tahoe tomorrow for a couple of days and I'm still reading the rather substantially owner's manual that came with this interesting new digital camera. (Nikon 5700, 5 megapixel, 8x optical, over $1100.00! I took it to the local camera shop for a 256MB card/chip and the owner said it was overkill). So what.

Anyway, you take great pictures Yates, did you have to reduce the resolution setting to get less pixels to transfer the picture from camera to DodgeDakota.com like an attachment or did you just take the picture and scan it in? (I've got a scanner too). I can E-mail it away to you or the site?

I think I'm making this harder than it really is but I want to honor this great site with the clearest picture possible.

I hope I made myself clear. I still may not know what I'm doing (I just bought this monster today).

If anyone other then Yates has an opinion I'd be happy to listen/read it. I don't want to keep bothering Lynn for something that most members accomplished with relative ease. All suggestions are welcome except, "you could have bought a cheaper camera that would have done the same job and use the money for more mods". I realize this, yes.

Sorry for the length of the post but I was on a roll.

Again Thanks,

and

Over-Kill is nice. That’s what someone said about my truck the other day.

Yea the images have to be reduced quite a bit from original. The limits for picture posts here is about 10 k, and your camera will take a beautiful picture at about 1-4 Megs each. That’s ok I use Photoshop or MS photo editor to reduce them. My camera (if I ever get it back from FUJI) is a 2.3 mega pixel digital. Have fun in Tahoe
and take lots of pictures. I have no problem with helping, It's what neighbors do.
