Subject: It goes tick and clunk and pop

Message:
I was reading thru some of the history but cant really tell if its a normal occurance or something that lot of people here had fixed. Search history is leading both ways so Ill just post.

Whenever I turn and the steering wheel is all the way to the right or left, I can feel a tick thru the steering wheel and hear a tick noise.

If I break hard or even not very hard (over bumps), I feel a pop noise, several actually. Im thinking its just Dodge's ABS but in another truck with ABS does not do this. Feels like the truck is braking then not braking (making pop noises) but ABS is suppose to brake and not brake but that pop noise/feel is something I never felt before.

And when I go from 0-20 and not accelerate anymore, I feel a clunk noise. Im guessing its the auto tranny design but some previous posts I digged up says both, design and flaw.

Auto v8 4.7l 01 dak cc

Thanks

OK dude they seem like normal noises. I have a 2001 R/T and they make similar ones. I can tell yoiu that when you turn the steering wheel to the right or left too hard it will always make that noise. Its just the gear box being pulled to tight. Just try not to do that because it can become defective at times. Pushing too much pressure. Its normal though, the other noises are probably small things or nothing.

I had the same problem, Really bothered me. It feels like a Bump through the steering wheel, Or a creek every now an then whenever I turned. Had it checked out. It was the clock Spring that had gone bad. I had the clock spring replaced last year as well cause of a recall. My service advisor said that its comon for the trucks to have bad clock springs. After they replaced it everything was fine again. No weird bumps or notin. Hope this helps.

Im just not use to having the tranny go clunk but then again I'm fairly new to the "push pedal and go" driving. Gah, my left foot gets bored =/
