 Subject: Cruise & SOLO II event in Philly!!

MOPAR Brethren,
The Delaware Valley Chapter of the
Shelby-Dodge Auto Club is having a
Cruise & Show , AND autocross "Motorsports
Weekend" on Saturday AND Sunday, October
5th & 6th in Northeast Philadelphia!!! Please
join us for the show, the tech-talk (and the
trash talk)... and of course, some racing !!
This 'event' will include a DV-SDAC / Strauss
Discount Auto sponsored car show,
performance and repair discussion groups for
all MOPAR fans, 'Clinics' to discuss specific
do's and dont's covering specific repair and
performance topics, and even door-prizes
and a significant in-store discount in the
Strauss discount Auto Store for all registered
attendees showing a car.
NOTE: IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A "SHOW
CAR" This is a FUN event! It does NOT matter
if it's a trailer queen, a show-car, a
work-in-progress, or a demonstration of your
spray-can-of-primer abilities!! BRING IT WITH
YOU!!
It dosent have to be a "show car", it just has to
be your baby... ;-)
Last year, we had several 'Performance
Clinics', that were very successful. Some of
them were inside Strauss' bays, and others
were outside in the parking lot. If you would
like to HOST A SESSION, and share what you
know (or what you have accomplished) with
your ride, with others, please let us know
ASAP!! You might be surprised at how large
your audience is! Join us!!
The show is going to be attended by
members of the Philadelphia Region SCCA,
and they too have some nice cars for show.
They are all motorheads too...just like WE are
:-) Philly SCCA is expected to have their
timing truck on-site, and will have lots of
SCCA propaganda & decals (etc) for those
that need them. Philadelphia Region SCCA is
the host of the Holbert memorial charity
autocross on Sunday October 6th!!
If you ever wanted to ask questions about
how to get involved with SCCA sanctioned
racing events (like the autocross that YOU
ARE WELCOMED TO RACE IN the next day) ,
this will be a great opportunity for you. Just
about any question you might have can be
answered on-site. Join us!!
There will be some SCCA, and DV-SDAC
members at the show that will be
discussing issues for preparing your FWD
MOPAR (as well as other marques of cars) for
other types of sanctioned racing
events...SOLO I and SOLO II (autocross) ,
hillclimb...etc. The DV-SDAC regularly 'works'
AND hosts events with the gracious
assistance of the Susquehanna region
SCCA, as well as the Philadelphia Region
SCCA. The Philadelphia Region SCCA SOLO
II rep will be at our show to answer questions
about the racing on Sunday (the following day)
, and pass out SCCA Novice books. If you
have been interested in more information on
how to get involved in sanctioned amateur &
club racing events other than
drag-racing...Join us!

Strauss Discount Autois offering a 10-15%
discount-day for all persons that PRE-register
to be at this event! You still get at least 10%
discount on in-store items if you register at
the event on the day of the event! this discount
includes everything in the store, as well as
prepaid special-orders! The only thing that is
not included in the discount, are tires and
rims (NOTE: Strauss will have special tire and
wheel deals too!!) How do you

Turbo MOPARS, 3.0 MOPARS, NEONs, RWD
vintage Muscle Mopars....
.... and of course, whatever YOU bring... ;-)

special-interest cars that are NON-MOPAR,
to come out and show us what makes 'them'
tick...."Never hate your
enemy...It affects your judgement" !! Bring it
and show us why its special
to you....Especially if its Turbocharged,
Supercharged, a sleeper of ANY
kind, or 'insane' in any other way.... ;-)

Philadelphia, just minutes from Interstate 95,
The Pennsylvania Turnpike,
The New Jersey Turnpike, US Route #1, and
many other major highways....

HOW FAR ARE YOU??
If you live anywhere in Eastern PA (from
Harrisburg / York going East, or
Wilkes-Barre / Scranton going South, then you
are within 2 1/2 hours of this
event. [ PA Turnpike EXIT #28 [ROUTE US
#1] is aprox 10 minutes from this event].
If you live in Northern New Jersey, you should
be Less than 2 1/2 hours
away. If you live anywhere in Southern NJ,
you should be Less than 2 hours
away. [New Jersey Turnpike EXIT #6
connects with the PA Turnpike, which
you will take to PA TPK EXIT #28]. If you live in
Near-South Jersey, Then
any one of the bridges that connect you with
Interstate 95 will get you
there via the Academy Road EXIT in NE Philly.
If you live in Delaware, or Eastern Maryland,
you should be best-served by
Interstate 95 [Academy Road EXIT in NE
Philly].
If you live in NYC, you should be within 2
hours...Once you escape from NYC
(I go there all the time on business ;-) )
The 'cruize' will begin at 930am, and last
all-day. There is no rain-date at
this time...Let us all pray for good weather !!
The autocross WILL HAPPEN, no matter what
the weather (at this time). Rain usually DOES
NOT stop a SOLO II racing event. Bring a rain
suit...Wipeouts in the rain are cool to watch
(as the cones fly) :-)
