I'm not sure what they would be worth, buying one from the dealer would be crazy but I have no idea what to pay, if you want to get rid of yours give me a price. I have a sony aftermarket head unit that I just removed from my 01 ( actually I just removed my entire system got tired of some problems that no one could help me figure out). Does the factory radio play mp3 cd's that you know of? Thanks,

TONY

NO it doesn't play MP3's, it's just the regular single CD player. It does have the CD changer controls, so you can add the Dodge cd changer if you want. I'll see what these things cost and get back to you.

Well, here's a link to an add I found selling a stock 2001 stereo from a RAM.

He's asking $375. Wow, these things are worth a lot! What is the Dodge dealer asking, $500-600?

It's only worth what people will pay for it. Check Ebay for past auctions that have been bid on.

I just bought a CD player out of a 2002 Dakota and put it in my 2001. I got it for 110 bucks, one hell of a deal!!!! Also, be sure that if you do this, you make sure that the connections are the same on the radios. Most 2001s have two connections on the back, the 2002 has only one. You will need to buy a kit from the dealership (about 20-25 bucks) that converts the wiring, it also includes the conversion for the antenna connection, real easy to install.

The CD player will play MP3s burned onto a cd as Dakula said.

I have a 2001 QC, w/ the Infinity CD system.

I burn mp3's almost daily here at work off of 'Kaza', and put them on CD's here and they play great in my truck.

I guess it's being burned onto another format that works. I don't know much about the different protocols, just that it works great! This morning I got nostalgic, and listened to two classic greats who died in the same plane crash, Ritchie Valens(zuela), and Buddy Holly.
