And the funny part was the first set of rotors started causing the steering wheel to act up towards the end of a long, almost all highway road trip.

Due to SEVERE vibration while braking, I had my rotors turned at 16k miles on my '02 AWD QC 4.7L. Truck now has 49k miles on it. Clips are broken off pads -- rattle like crazy .... and the brakes themselves squeak, pop, and moan with even the slightest pressure on the brake pad. I'm thinking another 20k miles and I'll be picking up the $21 rotors and a set of $25 brake pads at Advance Auto. That's about $40 a year (including the turning) for brakes for the DAK ... sounds fine to me.

42,000 miles so far. about 1/2 the pad left. no shaking or squeaking. '00 QC Sport 5 spd manual 2wd. maybe those big 11" x 3" drums on the rear have something to do with that.

at about 60,000 miles, that front brakes started to pulsate, so I knew the rotors were "warped". Still OEM front pads

at 98,000, I had the front brake pads replaced w/MOPAR valueline pads and rotors turned.

The front OEM pads still had at least 20,000 miles of life left on them, they did not need changing

THe rear drums are still all original OEM

The MOPAR valueline pads have been performing just fine so far, as they are softer than the OEM's, so less heat buildup, and so far no rotor warpage

Wheels were always rotated by myself and all lugnuts were torqued tight by me with a torque wrench to 95 ft/lbs. I know rotors on my truck did not warp due to improperly tightened lug nuts

2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group,
Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock
3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL

My pads started to rattle at -I think- about 14,000mi. The dealer put V-line pads on. At 20,000 the calipers locked-up and ruined the rotors. The dealer said he thought that the V-line pads caused excessive heat on the calipers -I was on my way to FL- and caused the fluid to boil. They replaced everything including hoses and i am still good at 27,000 now. This is on an '02 Quad 4wd 4.7
I logged all this in a post here awhile back but can't remember the details of mileage exactly now.

I've gone though 3 sets of rotors and pads on my truck in 20 thousand miles. I was told the best pads were ceramic. I put on the ceramic pads and all of the pads cracked in at least 2 places each after about 15 or 20 thousand miles. I found out later that they are not recommended for vehicals that do any towing. I tow a 21 foot boat. They warped my rotors too. I wish they would have told me about the towing issue before I spent the hundred bucks on the pads.

I ended up going with some drilled and slotted rotors I got on Ebay for 135.00 for the pair and bought the best semi-metalic pads I could find. I have put about twenty thousand miles on them and still haven't had a single problem.
