This weekend I plan on pulling out some bushes with my truck. They aren't huge bushes, but I am expecting them to put up at least a little fight when I put them out with my Dakota. I have a very heavy duty chain that I have pulled out large trees at work with (with a large tractor, not my truck) so that isn't my problem. My question is, is it ok to hook the chain around the ball on my trailer hitch or should I hook the chain right to the trailer hitch receiver? Or another place altogether???? Anybody do this before? I'm not too worried about it, but I don't want to bend or break something!

Loop the chain and put it where the reciver goes into the hitch then put the pin through. The ball isn't made for that kind of abuse.

That's what I was thinking about the ball CW. Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of using just the pin, makes sense though!
