Message:
Well after about 4 days working on and off on this little project it's finally finished and installed. The whole reason in building this console is to make the gear shifter look shorter than it really is and to also make it stock looking. Thus making it seem like a sporty cockpit.

Anyways, here's the before and after pics.

You can check out my site to see the whole process from beginning to installed.

Thanks guys,

It's made of 5/8" mdf board, the cup holders are made out of 3" abs plastic.

Looks good man,I checked out your site too,I see you had trouble with your LSD making noise after you changed over to Amsoil,I just changed all my fluids over to Amsoil and I have no noises at all but I did add the mopar friction modifier with the Amsoil 75w-90 oil in the rear diff, the front 205mm doesnt need it anyway,One thing i gota tell ya DO NOT use red threadlocker on sparkplugs at all,you are gonna have a hell of a time removing your plugs next time,I hope you dont screw up the threads in the head.Use anti-seize compound on sparkplug threads not threadlocker

Art you scared the sh!t out of me, I went outside at 10pm to see if my plugs were stuck in the heads. They were not stuck, I was able to move them with little effort.

I first added Amsoil 75w-90 gear lube then I notice the noise, after about 1 week I added a bottle of friction modifier which did nothing. So I complained to Amsoil they gave me 80w-90 gear lube which was to fix the noise. But did nothing, I guess it may not be the oil there might be something wrong with the gears. But it run like a champ?!?!

How did you manage changing the front end gear lube?? Did you remove the cover??, or suck out the fluid?? It's looks very tight to get the 2 upper bolts on the pumpkin.

Thanks,
Anthony

I`m glad your plugs are okay but trust me man threadlock is not meant for sparkplugs,it turns to plastic and can ruin aluminum threads again just use anti-seize on those. The front cover comes off not bad at all,you can get the top bolts from the front with extensions on the ratchet,2 of the bolts I had to use wrenches,I had to also remove the big nut that holds the steering rack bolt on, you will see its in the way when you try to pull the cover down and put it back, its a 24mm or 15/16 wrench, they both work, a socket wont fit in there,I made my own gasket for the cover as i could not find one or just use RTV ultra black but I like to use both a gasket and a lil RTV for a good seal.I used the sereis 2000 75w-90 in both the front and rear diffs,I did add the mopar modifier in the rear when I did the change and no noises, not sure why yours is making noise now,is it a constant noise or intermitent, when turning or what?

Hey Art,

For next time I wont use threadlocker, thanks for the heads up. I've read that others do use it.

The noise only happen when I'm turning near full lock. Like driving in tight spaces like a parking lot.

Later,
Anthony
