Subject: What Guages to Add??
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm thinking of putting a 2 or 3 guage pod in my 01 CC 4.7/5SPD DAK SLT+. Anybody have any suggestions on what guages to install? Also any info on where to put the sensors, and related problems etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Supercharger is coming next year when I get the $$ together, so I thought I'd fill up one hole with a boost guage. VDO, Autometer? Any suggestions? I noticed VDO has a combo boost/vacuum guage. Any good? As for the other slots?? suggestions??

If it were my ride, I would add a trans temp gauge. These newer electronic transmissions seem to be having a lot of isues. Keeping an eye on the fluid temp is a step in the right direction for extending the trans life.

Boost, Vaccum, Fuel Pressure, Fuel Ratio and EGT are all good choices. AN ampmeter is much more useful then voltage meter. Your truck already has a volt meter built in. Oil and tranny temp sensors can also be useful.

Hey cerecke, is your vacuum gauge mechanical or electrical? Where did you run it through the firewall? I just ordered a mechanical vac/boost gauge from autometer and I'm curious. Thanks.

its a mechanical, ran the hose thru the firewall, went to ace hardware and bought some more tubing, 1/4 then got a brass adapter to fit the two together, and ran the 1/4 inch line to the manifold, I took off a rubber cap on one of the open manifold fittings under the throttle body on the drivers side.....works good
