The other day I was driving my dak and went to pass, so I mashed the pedal, the only thing was the rpms went up and nothing happened. So I test out the truck off the highway and I have no power, felt like I was running on 4 cylinders, I couldn't even hear the dual exhaust. I figure it's the tranny, but there was no slippage, it just didn't fell like the power was getting to the ground and sometimes I would get a noise under throttle. The motor idled fine and would sometime rev up normally.
To make a long story short, I couldn't figure out what was wrong, after changing the tranny fluid and check things out. I take it to the shop and find out that the catalytic converter was plugged. Has anyone had this happen to them and did it do the same things? I thought the converter would burn out not plug.
