 Subject: Ford F-150 4X4.. hp?tq?

I went to park at a friends house yesturday and i parked behind her brothers 2000 Ford F-150 4X4. As me and my other friend got out, we were looking at the F-150 and i told my friend that the only reason it looks higher than mine is b/c they have a tall bed. So we walk by the truck and her brother is outside and sees us looking at his truck and says jokingly "Why the hell are yall looking at my truck like that".. So i said Jokingly, "Well i was thinking about stealing it, but then i realized it was a Ford"... we laughed about it and when we got inside, he said "I bet my truck can out haul ur truck anyday".. so i said, " I doubt that very HIGHLY". So what im trying to get at is, Is his 2000 V8 Ford F-150 4X4 more powerfull than my 2000 4.7L Dodge Dakota 4X4???.. he said his is a 5.6L but i think he meant 4.6L. I never heard of a 5.6L ford engine. Then i went on to say that not only would i out haul him, but that i would also run circles around him in a race.
So, can my truck out perform his truck??

I was just lookin through the manual for my dad's 2000 F150 the other day, also the V8 4x4. It says the HP is 260, and torque is 350, but that's the 5.4L V8, if your friend has the 4.6L V8, the numbers are 220 HP and Torque is 290.
It could be a tough race if he has the 5.4L, but the 4.6 shouldn't be a real problem. Good luck buddy, always fun to add another ford kill to the list.

Only one way to find out for sure.... PLEASE don't take this the wrong way but, you talked the talk with him , now you just gotta walk the walk. Doesn't really matter WHAT we say now , you already threw the challenge down.
That being said , I hope you thrash the %$#& out of him!!!

Actually, I think you should be able to beat him...not real bad, but beat him. I think he has more weight than you do...Much more weight from a full-size and a mid-size truck...But I agree, there is only one way to tell...take it to the streets....
