 Subject: What mods did you notice most gains in?

Well, I just bought a new 4.7 CC and was wondering what Mods you have noticed the most HP gains in. What type of PCM works best? Also, what type of intake? There is so many diferent types out there, how can I choose the right one? What is the difference between 1.6 and 1.7 roller rockers? Thanks

K&N air intake system and 3923 Spark plugs. I went from 12.3 miles to the gallon to 14.8 miles to the gallon. Should mention too that I have a 4 by 4.

Plan to relocate the IAT sensor to see if I will gain any more milage performance.

The 4.7l does not use those type of rockers. It has no push rods.
Most people dont like the 3923's in the 4.7l.
Mike Leach seems to be the favorite pcm program. You'll have to send in you pcm to have it burned. Its not an actual pcm. The pcm program is the best mod for under $500 for the 4.7l.

Don't rule out the HO cams either. They're supposed to be the best bang for the buck on the 4.7

I have a 2000 4.7 CC 5-speed.
So far I have done and approx cost:
Big D intkake kit (K&N cone on a Ss tube) ($100)
relocate IAT ($free)
bored 68mm TB (stock 65 mm) ($130)
HO intake ($120)
HO Cams ($110)
Gibson dual catback (SS) ($430)
I would have to say the cams are definetly the best bang for the buck if you can install them yourself...

I have a '00 4.7L CC
So far:
68mm Fastman Tb ($200)
360airintakez ($185)
180t-stat($10.00?)
3923's ($7.00?)
The best so far was the Fastman TB. The next mods will be a carsound cat($90) and a new muffler($90.00) (probably edelbrock). I'm leaving the stock pipes in place because there is no need to go over 2.5" on a naturally aspirated engine and the stock pipes are already SS.

So far, the best 'free' mod, was getting rid of my belt fan. I put it back on once(took all of 30 secs, no wrenchs), and really noticed a difference. I"ve since put the 180t-stat in even in HOuston heat and traffic, it doesn't ever get over 1/3 the way from the 'C' mark.
YOu have gotten some good advice here from the experts in the above posts.
01, QC, 4.7, 5spd, LSD, TT, HD service group, SLT int, ported 68mm TB, AIT adjuster, no belt fan, homebrew intake with K&N filter. HO cams are next,

Got my chip "flash" two weeks ago. Big improvement. Mike Leach & Co. do a good job getting your PCB back to you as fast as possible (3 days). Mine was $427.00 including shipping. However, both me and Leach & CO. (shipping may vary depending on your location) live in California.
My personal butt dyno isn't very sensitive but I noticed better low-end torgue and general drivability from this modification.
Reading over many posts, air intakes are receiving mixed reviews for the 4.7. All I've got is a K$N drop-in air filter.
I've heard nothing but goods things about the High Output (HO) cams. I'm getting that mod next week.
