graphite dakota i dont understand why u still think taht it is something to brag about that your V8 dakota can beat a 4.0 ranger. thats nothing impressive. my ranger is MY truck not my parents and i drive that when it rains and in the snow and MY lightning which is highly modified i have paid for most of the mods and installed all of the mods that i can do on my own. for the others i took them to my freinds dads garage and got them done there. i dont understand why you think that i think my ranger is fast or anyhting cuz its not. Its a second car. Im just saying that you braggin about u beating a ranger is nothing to brag about what so ever. And for whoever is takling about the SRT 10. i have alot of respect for that truck. My dad just got one and it is faster than my lightning but not by much anymore. That truck i could not even afford to pay for gas for that thing. My lightning runs 12.2's so until your dakota with a super charger can keep up with that, which it wont cuz the r/t 5.9 with a super charger cant run that, then you really dont have room to talk and plus you dont have a supercharger. This is wat i dont get either, why do all you guys have to hate on ford and chevy, i dont have a problem with dodge trucks or chevy trucks and i will probly at some time in my life buy one. I just dont like you guys who dont have a fast truck talk about how fast your truck is and how ur big V8 can beet a small 6.

Matt - Just like many (but not all, there's quite a few respectable/knowledgeable guys out there) Lightning owners, you're an ignorant idiot.

There are quite a few Dakotas which are running faster than 12.2 in the quarter mile. Although the Lightning is certainly a nice package from the factory that can go quite fast with a number of bolt-on additions, if you put comparable parts in a Dakota R/T you will go equally fast if not faster than a Lightning because of the lighter weight.

It's pretty ignorant of you to bitch about someone's apples to oranges comparison (which was over two years old anyways) and then use another apples to oranges comparison to talk trash.

and no im not 12 im 17 but u must be prettty gay, you just said lol. SinCity R/T how is that ignorant. I garantee there are plenty of trucks taht can beet my lightning no problem. I was talking to graphitdakota about his dakota which he thinks is all cool because it can beat a 6 cylinder truck. I have seen a few R/Ts with superchargers on them but they havnt been able to beat my lighning, im sure with some more money and some tuning some of them could. But graphitedakota is talking about his 4.7 4X4 4-Door truck that is "so-fast." I have alot of respect for R/T and R/T owners, there is a guy who owns a shop out here who has a R/T dakota that runs 10's. You act liek i think my truck is the fastest truck becuase its realy not, there are plent of vehicles out there that can beat, and yea im sure there are some dodges and chevys and i can admit that unlike you guys who are liek DODGE RULES and everyone else sucks. If ford really sucks that much, then why have they sold more new f-150's than any other truck made by any other manufactuer??? I have no problem with dodges i dont get what your guys problems are.

The problem is that you just picked an archaic (means old) post & went apesh!t with it. I bet you're like all the other kids who think that whatever they drive is the absolute fastest. We see your kind everyday behind the wheel of a rice burner, revving the engine with a fart can & a biga$$ wing bolted on the back, just looking for a race. I see no difference between you claiming to beat all the Dakotas that come along with Ford's top of the line, straight line only supercharged truck (which it should for $40,000), & Graphitedak's post of smoking Extreme's & Rangers with a Dak quad cab 4X4, only when you factor in about a thousand more pounds & a front driveline sucking more power from the engine, it is quite a feat. Then when you look at the original post of gearing (4.10 vs 3.55) the 4.0 probably should have beaten the Dak, unless Ford is just padding HP & torque numbers, as they have been known to do in the past. As far as hating Fords, I don't. I just didn't like the fact that the interior was going to fall apart before it was paid for, which happens in most F150's & Rangers, & I didn't want a full size truck. If Ford made a midsize, I would consider it, but they choose not too. As for why they are the best selling, well, the world is full of stupid uneducated people, as can be confirmed by your posts. I think that the commercials say that the F series truck is the best selling. That is probably because of the F250 & F350, which, in my opinion, are just awesome. Sorry for the long post, but this horse is dead & buried. Matt, I'm sure that if you look, you can find something from 2000 for your next chance to look stupid.

bubbainKY do you know how to read??????I compleltly made it clear that i dont think my lightning is "the fastest car ever" and ricers are really gay and so are you. And NO the F-150 is the best selling truck on the market wether you choose to beleive it or not. But really you should grow up, not me. And how do u figure that a V8 dakota should loose to a 6? Your the dumb one here. I have a real truck and i think that you are just jealous becuase your truck is slow. Seriuosly you guys get all upset over this and you guys probly have no lifes and are 35, your getting mad over a 17 year old because he has better cars then you. Look who needs to grow up.

I must have hit a nerve here. He's resorted to name calling. I don't consider it an insult that I am 35. I have about 40 youngsters that work for me that sound a lot like you. I'm in the military, getting ready to go to Germany. I do have a life, my truck isn't fast, but it still surprises quite a few. As far as F150 outselling everything, I saw Ford's advertisement today & it is F series, not F150. Yes, I do know how to read (although you don't make it easy with spelling like that), & I can go through your previous posts & stand by my judgement of your character as a loud mouthed bragging little mommas tit sucking b!tch. My reasoning behind why a QC & a Thunderbolt or an Extreme should have been a little closer, not a loss but a little closer than what GraphiteDak & MrSleepy won by is posted above. Keep in mind that for every 100 lbs you gain, it's like losing 10 hp. And finally, no I'm not gay

Hey guys. Just browsing the site. Obviously none of you know anything about apples from oranges if you insist on comparing this race with anything but compact pick-ups. On that note, have ANY of you heard of a Syclone? I dunno... 0-60mph in 4.6, 1/4 mile in 13.2 STOCK!! If you are going to set any goals on what your compact pick should be capable of, why not start here as this is a stock truck that you'll need numerous mods just to keep up with. Good Luck ( syty.org to see more.)

miah palmer,

Anything that is force fed from the factory is not stock, so the Sy is not stock. Just compare how many naturally aspirated engines leave the factory versus the number of turbo or supercharged engines and "stock" is reserved for the naturally aspirated engines. Besides, I've seen every type of vehicle run great times so the Sy is not impressive. Heck, I've seen a Turbo Dodge minivan run low 12s so what's your point?

i can guess why the f series sells so well:

many business and government jobs require a truck. so they buy a bunch at a discount. whenever i see a devlivery truck/ parts runner/ gardeners/etc. its always an f150.

im not talking bad about ford, but they sell because they're cheap.

if you have a major company and you want to buy a large amount of trucks you are going to get a discount. Ford trucks arent any cheaper than dodge and chevy trucks, maybe they just buy them becuase they are the best and will last longer.

Sweet god in heaven. That is one of the dumbest things I have heard so far on this site. I rate that comment (in regards to the top 10 dumbest things I have heard on this site) as number 5.
