I searched through old posts and can't seem to find anything on this so here goes.
Yesterday my window wouldn't roll up. It appears to me like its going off track. If I roll it down more than half way it gets jammed trying to come back up. Only the back of it rolls up and causes it to get cocked in the door and jam, I have to pull the front up by hand till halfway then it is able to come up.

I was wondering if anyone else had this happen and what an easy fix was? I'll be pulling the door apart tomorrow night so any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

sounds like the motor is going bad I had the same thing happen to my 96 camaro driver side window. If I remember correctly it was $150.00 parts and labor to have it fixed. I would imagine it would be in the same ballpark to be repaired.

I'm prety sure it isn't the motor. It has power and moves it pretty good but when I put the window down too far and try to put it back up, only the rear part of the window moves up about 2". It makes the glass get cocked forwand and jams then the motor starts straining. Like I said above, if I lift the front part of the widow up it moves smooth. then once its up enough it does fine and stays straight the rest of the way. I think its probably the rails or the track inside the windows has come apart or part of it (bushings?) have worn out

if the glass goes cock-eyed then its off track, you can get a new track at autozone for like 2 bucks.

Mine did exactly this to me. It was the glides. On my 92 there were two little plastic pieces that attached to the window to make the glass slide in the channel.
When your window goes crooked... do you see a hole near the edge of the glass?? if so there is supposed to be a glide occupying that hole.

I got my new glides at the dealer for like 3 bucks. Since my weatherstripping was old the window quickly tore it up when it was outta track. That weatherstripping piece that does the top and sides of the window and includes the track was $180 ouch

Thanks kcmm, I'll have to check that out.
Do you just pull off the door panel and screw/bolt the new ones in?

I'm kinda having the same problems on my driver side window. When I roll it down, I hear a lot of noise like the motor is going bad or rust or something. Going to have Dodge look at it and get somemore out of my warranty =)
