I woke up this morning to go to the gym, walked outside and My Baby was GONE!!
I live just outside the city in the BEST neighbourhood around and THIS happens. This is BULLS**T!!! I hope they get these little idiots that did this.

OMG, that really sucks!! I'm so paranoid about mine, because I don't have a driveway, that I have a section of my 10' backyard fence that slides open like a barn door. I can drive down the alley way, back into my backyard, pull the fence closed and no one knows its there. I also took my boyd rims off, I'm only going to put them on for shows and racing.
My sympathies, I sure hope you get it back.

I just got a call about rims and tires that I wanted. May not be spending that $2500 after all.

Sorry to hear that... but that what insurance is for folks. Lesley, why would you go through the trouble of taking the rims off and on ?? Would you rather them break into your house and steal them ? If you parade your stuff around, be prepared to have some theft. Im not saying thats what Canada did but don't be scared of those punks. Set some traps in you car for the theives.Thats just my attitude. I work in Jamaica Queens where cars are stolen when you turn around. Dont get attached to material things.

Don't get your panties in a bunch little lady ! Im saying if your gonna show off people are gonna look. Its like the people that drive around with their systems pumping around the mall. Then their stuff gets stolen and they ask why. If you think before you type you might sound more mature. I simply stated dont get attached to material objects. I din't say dont use them. I could care less if I threw my lap top in the pool but I will keep using it until that happens. I wont cry about it, neither would I cry if my dakity dak was stolen.
P.S:How do you make candles out of sticks, twigs and sh!t ?? Do you wrap the stick around the sh!t or the other way around ?

How many time have you switched your Boyds and stock rims on your truck?? The problem by doing this to many times you are ruining the threads on the bolts, this could also affect your alignment and also warp your rotors.
Izzy I feel the same way sometimes, I love my Dakota. But sometimes I wish I've gotten a 2wd version and mod it into a sport truck like an R/T. Oh Well!!

Bri - The way I see it is that this is MY truck. I spent all my hard earned money on it and babied it since the day it hit 10kms on it. Over the past few years I have put my own time and money trying to make the truck look good and look unique. Now if someone's gonna go and steal it and trash it or beat the sh*t out of it then that BUGS me.
Lesley - I can see why you'd want to do that..but... I like my truck to look good all the time. Don't you love it when people check out your truck? If I spent that much money, you'd better believe I'm gonna use them!!

Canada : Understood. I'm the same way, I dont baby my truck but I take care of all the parts and fluids.Its in album 5 top corner silver QC. But there is nothing I love more then beating the ever living piss out of my truck on the trail and the road (not all the time). Thats just my way of driving my TRUCK. Like someone said before it's smiles per gallon not miles. All in all I just was saying don't get to upset about it. It really just a truck with all your money invested in it :)

I usually only put them on for racing and for the odd hot rod show. I take a lot of photos for the paper I work at, and sometimes its fun to enter my truck as well. I really enjoy checking out the classic cars and talking to the owners about the incredible amount of work put into them - and a lot of that work entails searching for hard to find parts. It feels pretty good when one of those guys gives my rims the thumbs up. Do I consider that showing off? Nope, I think it is acknowledgement from one afficionado to another. Am I immature - absolutely! My dak is my playtoy, and I guess you'd have to have a bit of the child still in you to chill out by visiting here and sharing light-hearted banter with like-minded individuals. Sure beats the héll out of dropping un-asked for moral judgements on strangers. Let us know how you make out with the candles, okay?
Anthony, I only hand-tighten the lug nuts, so hopefully there isn't too much wear and tear on them. I'm sure that some is hard to avoid. My alignment seems to be okay. Although the rims are bigger, the overall circumference of the wheel isn't too much difference due to the low-profile tires.

This is the reason I have an aftermarket alarm system with 2-way remote. My remote beeps if the alarm is set off. It sits on the night stand right next to my loaded .38. The poor bastard that tries to steal my Durango will be in for a big surprise.

I appreciate all of the kind words from everybody!!!
I just got word that they found my truck. So far all I know is that the ignition and the door handles are ruined. They found it about 10 mins from my house!! They also have three suspects in custody from mine as well as AT LEAST three or four other grand theft auto charges. I hope these guys get what's coming to them.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Cadadak sorry you got your truck stolen I got mine stolen back in March in tiny lttle Sayre,PA. Talk about feeling violated! I got it back after a couple days when they failed to roll the thing off a ravine. But the bastaads stole my G-tech and wooly winter coat!
