I gave them a call to find out who makes the clears and the sales guy said they were generic and you do have to splice them in. I spent the extra 30 bucks and got the APC Diamond Clears that don't have to be spliced, but these Taiwan made POS's leak and stay fogged up for days after. Iv'e read here that some guys are laying a bead of silicone around them with good results. Hope this helps, good luck.
