Just bought a pair of led taillights to put in the carbon clears. I am hoping they will be brighter than the stock bulbs. I can't really tell now , its still light out. My question , and I know something's been said about this before , does it hurt anything to let the turn signals blink that fast? The back of the box the led's came in said to change to a variable load signal flasher. The number they give for this part is 552. It only costs a couple of bucks , but do I need this to keep from damaging anything?

I'm curious too.

can you get some pics with both brakes on and just the lights on?
JC Whintney has an LED 3rd brake light kit

It won't hurt the LEDs as LEDs can easily blink faster than your eye can see, however it would add extra wear to the contacts of the blinker module. The variable load modules basically use a relay in between the lights and the oscillation instead of directly actuating the lights.

I got them at AutoZone. They are called JamStrait. Not sure I like them , they don't seem any brighter than stock , and very little difference between taillight , and breaklight. It really makes the third breaklight look VERY bright!! I did see the amber ones for the clear corners , and when I get the corners , I will get them.

The box they came in has a web addy www.jamstrait.com
I haven't been there yet , but I'm gonna check it out latter.

LEDs are rarely brighter than incandecants, thier main advantages are a very quick on/off time and an extremely long life. An LED "burning out" when operated within spec is a rare occurance, an incandecant light burning out is quite common though.

Use more of them :)

There's ways to make more current flow through them, but that doesn't usually make them a whole lot brighter and has a tendancy to destroy them quickly.

More is better!! One more Q , if I go with the clear corners , and use the amber L.E.D's , will it blink even FASTER than it is now? If so , it may blink so fast , it would look like a strobe light , hehe.

Thanks for helping me out with this!

If you're currently using incandecants in the corners, yeah, they'll blink faster. (or possibly not at all)
