OK, oi am beginning to think my dak is very tempermental. Some days i can take a corner and smoke 'em very nicely. other days i only get some chirping. Well i just got thru putting a 16" elec fan on a 95 X-Cab 3.9. It seems to rev a little quicker and better low end. Not alot but a little.
It still doesn't seem to be running like it should. i went to the track last fri and ran a 17.4, then it started to rain so i couldn't make any more passes. I have ran better than that stock. I was also running my shorty belt at the track, bypass A/C and Power Steering. I should be in the 16's. Any suggestions? what could be wrong? I am getting tired of getting beat by V6 Maxima's and stuff. And no i'm not dropping a V8 in it. can't afford it and it is my daily driver so don't even tell me that. GIve me a few years and i'll have the 380 hp Mag, crate motor in it, till then i want more power from this v6. Also underdrive crank and alt pulley is next on mod list, then possibly headers. What should be the next mod? a list of current mods is at http://www.angelfire.com/la3/finedak. Thanks in advance for ya'lls input, sorry it's long

A lot of it probably has to do with the weather. If it was nice and dry and around 40º outside, your Dak would love it.

The other thing you may want to do also. Clean your TB by taking it off and taking your sensors off. Use TB cleaner and get all that carbon soot off.

Use a bottle of fuel injector cleaner (Chevron Techron) every couple thousand miles. You'd be surprised what those few things can do for you.

Psst...that's the IAT issue. When it gets hotter outside, the performance degrades slightly.

Oh so what your saying bernd is that by buying your little box my problem will be fixed? hehe i plan on getting the IAT adjuster as soon as i can. Also why is it that the motor doesn't really start pullin untill about 3000 rpm? i added an elec fan which helped out a little, unerdrive pulleys are in the plans as well

Nah...it won't "fix" the problem...but it will help (along with other mods as well).

A 180 T'Stat will help some of the heat related performance loss as well as a cold air kit.

I have a 180 t'stat, it seems to bog when i punch it from a stand still. sometimes it will roll a few feet and then it'll break the tires loose. it doesn't have any power off idle. What could help it from bogging?
