Subject: Tire size change?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have 15 inch rims with factory 215/75r15 tires.
They will be needing replaced shortly and am considering changing to 235/75r15.

Just as an example to give me an idea, lets say that the 235 tires mounted are about 2 inches higher than the 215's.

I have a drop hitch leveled just right for a trailer I pull.

With the new tires, will it raise my truck and of course my hitch, 2 inches, or will it raise it only half, 1 inch?

Any comments?

The diameter size difference would be 1.2 inches, radius difference is .6 inches. So your truck would be about .6 inches taller.

This link is a good place for tire size calculations.
