The advantage of having a boxline to prevent scratches is obvious but are there any disadvantages? I've heard about moisture getting trapped underneath and causing mildew and the potential for rust. Any and all comments welcomed.

when I took the drop in bed liner out of my 89 F-150 that had been in there for 8 years, there was definately alot of rust under it, but it hadnt rusted through. Regardless, I would recommend a good spray in or even one of those budget "roll on" bed liners over a drop in. They work real good, and the back of my dak looks great.

i'd also recommend a spray in liner. i just took the drop in bedliner out of my 94 dakota the other day and there was some rust along the wheel wells and it had scratched the paint all over the bed. i'm thinking about using herculiner on it, which would be one of the budget roll on ones. the spray in ones can get a little pricy. however, if you do want to get a drop in bedliner, i'm trying to sell mine. its in really good shape and has the tailgate protector piece as well.
