Subject: 50 or 52 mm TB ???
IP: Logged

Message:
Most of the info that I have read recomends a 52 mm for more heavily moded 5.9's. My question is if I intend on modifying my R/T further would there be any anverse affects to running a 52 ?? Or would I not get as much performance out of until I modify some other parts to take advantage of the the bigger bore ???????

If you don't plan on doing a bunch within, say the next 9-12 months.. go for the 50mm.. It'll work great even with the other standard bolt on mods.

I got lots ready to ship... Just say when!

Nice truck BTW-- I think the BW RC RTs look the best! :P

On a V6, without a Supercharger, I have 48mm Billet TBs.. Work great. I've sold a few just recently-- they have the correct linkage and everything, a true straight forward bolt on.

I know of a few people running superchargers on V6s, and one has a 50mm I sent him about 6 months ago. Loves it.

Mostly you MAY take a little bit of a hit on the low end. All trucks are different (I've got a guy running a 55x52 for the 408, but on his 360 and loves it-- I myself will be running a 55x52 today to see how my truck responds).

If you go with a 52 now, and really plan on going with M1, headers, cam or 1.7 roller rockers... It's the best way to go.

so would a 48mm would be better than a 50mm unless I had a supercharger? How much would the 50mm hurt my V6's performance without it? Just curious considering their the same price.

Yes... 48 mm out flows a stock V8 tb...it's plenty for a 3.9L

You won't be disappointed.
