On my 99 the PCV is on the pass. side and goes to the side of the manifold. On the drivers side is a breather tube that connects to the stock air hat. I no longer have the stock airhat because of the blower so I got a K&N part number 62-1170 for that side. The pass. side is hooked up to a vac. tee coming off my M-1. Hope that helped you.

Ok, maybe I am just making this more complicated than it should be….

2000 R/T 5.9

The driver side valve cover has a hose that comes out of the rear of the cover and seems to go into the intake manifold. ** Is there a pcv valve that connects the end of the hose to the valve cover ?? If so can I replace this with a crankcase filter ??

The passenger side valve cover has a hose that comes out of the rear of the cover and goes into the air intake. Is there a pcv valve that connects the hose to the valve cover ?? If so can I replace this with a crankcase filter ??

Sorry for the repetitive post but I have no experience with crankcase filter or pcv valves

I would like to put a filter on each valve cover if at all possible

I just have one on the side that connects to the air intake hat. I can't see why you couldn't put them on both sides, but you would have to plug the corresponding hole with a grommet. The main reason I use one is to get rid of the ugly hose.

Do I have to use the pcv valves ? or can they be replace and use the push-in style breather on both sides ??

Please excuse my total lack of knowledge on this subject !!!:)

if you were to put a filter on both sides all the blow by gasses and stuff would leak out the filters and you will get a smelly exhaust smell in the cab, it did this when i put in the K&N with a bad/plugged PCV

Ok i just put one in. I went on the passenger side to replace the 90 degree fitting and hose that connected to the airintake. After a little more reading with the 5.9 you cant use two because the driver side has a pcv valve that works under a vacume and if remove the extra gasses etc would not make it back into the inake maifold to be burnt off. Thanks for the help boys !!

p.s. that breather was a fother mucker to put get back into the valve cover.
