Subject: Where is AC drian tube on '01 Dak??
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm trying to find the AC condensate drain tube on my '01 Dak. I want to probe it and make sure it is unplugged, as AC has a horrible odor and I don't see water dripping under the truck anymore like I did when it was new. I've looked on the passenger side firewall, but with all the heat shields in place can't see exactly where the tube is supposed to be. what does it look like?? Where EXACTLY is it located?? Please help, Thanks!

DG

I had water from the a/c leaking under the carpet and when I took to the dealer, they said there was not a tube but a hole cut through. After replacing the carpet they install a tube. I have a '02 CC, as to the location, I am not sure.

Brian,

I read and printed your post before I started looking, and I *still* cannot see any drain tube on the lower passenger side firewall. Even had my son crawl under there.... Is the tube actually BEHIND the metal heat shield?? Accessible from the bottom?? I just can't see it anywhere under there...
Thanks,

DG

I have a 2002 RC Sport V6, and I had to look hard for my drain tube, too. It's located on the firewall right behind the transmission dipstick, more towards the center...only sticks out about an inch or so, and is about 3/4" around. You probably can't see it from the bottom of the truck. Shine a light down there, it looks sort of like a shotgun barrel just barely poking through the firewall...my Dak is brand new, and today was very hot and humid. I ran the AC for about an hour...I was amazed at how much water came out of that tube when I parked it in the garage. 2 big streams ran all the way to the back of the truck. It's no wonder the evaporator box grows mold after awhile.
