Hey Dan.....I didn't take pics of the install. I can tell you that it is much easier to put the rear of the truck on jacks and take the tires off.

Follow the instructions as they are on the package and you won't have any problems. Shouldn't take but an hour and that is removing and reinstalling the tires.

If you had a cordless drill or something that will help as well.

Thanks Mark. So the flaps themselves just bolt on using the existing bolts from the fender flares?

I installed the Dodge molded flaps on my 2000 QC 4x4. You need to drill 1 or 2 holes in each wheelwell. This is very easy in the front by just turning the wheels. In the back they recommend taking off the wheels. I just used a universal joint on my drill and did the holes without removing the wheel. A flex shaft would also work well. The remaining screws just use the same holes as the flares.

Thanks Dave. I have a flex shaft so if I decide to get them, it shouldn't be too bad to put on from the sounds of it.

no, Dan. It only took me about 20 minutes to install all 4. I also think that they look great. I personally do not like the looks of the floppy rubber mud flaps, but these molded ones are a different story.

Dave - can you get away with not drilling any additional holes and just using the existing bolts from the flares?

No, Dan. I think the additional holes are required to draw the flaps tight to the wheelwell and the flares. They are small holes for essentially sheetmetel screws and a plastic push through type screw. If I remember correctly, you are not even drilling into metal, just the black plastic wheelwell housing and the plastic flares.

Different Dave here, ...

The molded ones do mount with the existing screws on the fender flairs with one catch in that there is an extra screw with a little rubber seal for each of the rear ones that's indicated in the instructions to have a hole drilled just for it, but I didn't feel like jacking up my truck and removing the tires to add an extra hole to my truck. Without the indicatec screw, they mounted very tightly and five months later, there's no looseness whatsoever.

The front ones were the easiest of all! Just turn the wheel out of the way when mounting.

The only tool I used was a #2 Philips Stubby screwdriver and the whole job took me about 30 minutes with interruptions not related to the installation.

I believe the flat universal ones DC sells requires you to measure and to make wholes in the flaps if they're the similar to the ones I had mounted on my '98 Cherokee.

Dan

I used the exsisting holes from the fender flares. There were 2 reasons why I took the tires off.

Reason 1, made it alot easier to get my cordless in the right place.

Reason 2, I measured from the ground and the bed of the truck. When I was sure exactly where I wanted the flaps to sit, I taped the flaps to the finder flares and took a rubber mallet hammer to mark the hole where to drill, by hitting the flap to the screw. Left a nice imprint and there were no errors.

Now quit stalling and get those mud flaps on your Dak. :-)

Thanks all. I am just waiting for DC to send me the darn pin number for the card. Funny how it takes them 4 months to get the card to me and when I get it, it expires the end of August. I hope I get the pin number soon. I bet I get it August 30th, giving me one day to use it. Those promotions are always too good to be true. Give you $50 and make you sweat it!

Dan,

I finally went out and looked at my molded flaps. The rear ones have 5 screws, only two are from the flares - the rest were drilled. The front ones have 4 screws with only one from the flares. It seems to me that if you only use the screws from the flares that they would be a lot less secure than designed. Drilling the holes into the plastic for these was NOT a big deal.

Well drilling plastic is so much better than metal. Guess I can't complain.
