Subject: Wheel noise?
IP: Logged

Message:
The other day I took my truck to New York to drop someone off, when I got there I started to hear a noise coming from the passenger side wheel. It only happened between 20mph and 5mph, sounded like a grown/growl and I got this vibration coming through the pedals and floor. I also got a louder noise and vibation at the same speeds when I was on brakes. Seems to be the most noticable when I let off the gas at those speeds. So, I changed the pads the other day, figuring that it was because they were very low. Took my truck for a test ride, it sounded and felt even more terrible. I now get a clunking coming through the steering and pedals every once and a while.

What could this be, a steering problem or suspension related? I have replaced the bearing in the past.

i am having the exact same problem on a 93 v8 dakota with 91000 miles. I had my rear axle serviced because I was having noise while making sharp turns. the rear axle lubrication solved the noise problem while turning, but vibration at low speed remains (very noticable at 20 mph. as I accelerate the vibation seems to turn to just noise like a wheel bearing whine or growl. I havent checked the rear wheel bearings because I have posi-traction and I cant get both back wheels off the ground at the same time. I do notice when the body raises up and down from bumps in the road the noise gets louder when front end dips down and quiets when going up. thanks for replys
