Yeah, try not to rev the engine up really high when you let off the clutch. Of course this all comes with practice and experience, until you get used to you truck. Have fun driving a stick, cause their a blast to drive!

Jeff- the most important thing to extend life of a clutch is keep your foot off pedal when not using it.Practice engaging clutch quickly and soomthly and then put your foot on floor dont leave it on the pedal.Get in the habit of doing this and you will get lots of mileage out of a clutch.I have seen people with bad clutch maners ruin it in very short order.Clutch and brakes are the same if you ride them all the time they will not last long.

Well technically if you want to make it last really long, when you want to shift into any gear but first, get off the gas, wait for the gears to mesh, and shift without the clutch.

I haven't tried it in My dakots, but know you can do it in a Jeep Cherokee, and a Toyota,

First of use the clutch. Only do what nick said once you have the money for a tranny. I call that powershifting and it cost me a few trannys. Second a good way to save your clutch is when you come to a light put it inbetween gears (neutral) Because somtimes clutch wear still takes place when foot is of the clutch. Just picture it like your breaks. The more you use it the faster it will go but if you drive it easy with the ocasional hard acceleration it should last you 100000 plus. see ya.
