Tyler - They will NOT be comfortable unless they are 5 year olds!! I would get a quad cab for four people.Even three in the front is not really very comfy.

Well, If your date sits in your lap.......Nah. My RC white Dak looks too much like a work truck right now to take to prom. Now a black R/T would be nice, hmmmm......

Do any of you have any pictures of the interior of the 2000 Dakota Extended Cab? What kind of seats are in the back? Are they the ones that flip down from the side? Or is it a bench or individual seats? Thanks..

My uncle was able to fit three adults in a cc, I wouldn't suggest it. Last two years I went to Proms (not this year though because I'm sick of them). If you really want a truck go with a quad cab or a durango. Or how about a Sebring convertable? How about a Ram with the off-road package, that'll make me jealous!!!!

How about a PT Cruiser, I think people think those things are cool. Along as it's not an Aztek, I heard Pontiac was expecting to sell over 75,000 of those things with in a year. And they only have sold under 5,000, what a shame. They look like they fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down!!!

Tyler,

The rear seat in the Dakato is a front facing bench seat that rests down. It only lifts up to access the storage bins under the rear seat.

As far as putting two people in the back, I would advise against it. All four people in the truck would be uncomfortable becasue the front passengers would have to slide thier seats forward to allow the rear passengers enough leg room. Now, I could be wrong if the all four passengers are short, but for bunch of 5'8" and taller it's not going to work.

Also remember the rear panels do not open like the full size does. This will make entering and exiting the back seat a lot harder. About two weeks ago, I let my younger brother drive my truck while I rode behind my dad in the passenger seat. Being 6'1" I sat cross seat with my feet behind the driver, and I was uncomfortable. To top it all off, when I was exiting the cab my pants caught on the seat release lever on the passenger seat and ripped them. I dont think the guy and gal in the back would want to rip the tux or dress.

If the truck cleaned and polished up, it will be one of the sharpest looking rides out in the parking lot on prom night.

I own a 2001 Quad and the reason I bought it was for the room in the back. There is no room for adults in any other truck in its class. The 2 in the back must be pretty deperate for a ride to be stuffed in the back or dont they know what you are planning for them? You may lose a good friend this way. Not to mention piss a woman off which you dont want to do... Rent something with room. The hummer idea sounds cool but the oversized console between you and your date would suck. Go for the full size 4X4 Ram! Go large or stay on the porch//////

Putting 4 people in a Club Cab Dakota would be almost like putting 4 people in a Miata. Okay, maybe thats a little bit exaggerated.

The Sebring!!!!! Trust me, I just got done with the prom thing. The only thing you have to worry about is the wind messing the girls hair before prom. But afterwards when its done and your all burning up because its hot inside the dance hall, it's going to be nice driving home with the top down! Ask your girl or your buddy what they prefer, you might still want to check for room in the back seat. Good luck and have fun, when is the prom?

My 2 year old doesn't even fit in the back of my club cab. That has a little something to do with the car seat though. Last night I went and bought a new booster seat for her. It's really cool. It looks just like a high back fiberglass racing seat. It's also black and blue. Plus my wife no longer has to have her seat almost all the way forward. Kinda expensive though.
