Hello all- I have a silver 2001 QC that I would like to put nerf bars on. I will go with black since it's a sport & does not have any chrome on it. Thay will be used more as a step then anything else.
Any recommendations? I can get a pair installed locally for $239. They have plastic steps mounted on them that I don't like. I was surprised that they were plastic, I figured they would have rubber steps. Even just metal tread plates would be fine with me. Also, I know that most bolt on, but where do they bolt up on an '01 QC? How difficult to install? I installed some on my last truck ('94 Toyota), and had to use my neighbors impact wrench to loosen the frame bolts!
Thanks in advance for any input!

On my 02 QC the bolt to the cab bolts. You will need a impact wrench to get those suckers out for sure. Other than that it was a piece of cake. Took about 15 minutes a side.

I've also got an 01 silver qc and I put on the stainless bars and they look real sharp. The pads are a real heavy plastic and after 10 months still look like brand new.
