Subject: problems with truck order
IP: Logged

Message:
Friend of mine orderd a new dakota cc. The dealer told her 6-12 weeks. She is at 12 weeks now and the dealer told her that sometime in mid July she can expect her truck. What options does she have? Reduction in price, added stuff for the truck payed for by the dealer. I told her to ask for that stuff and if the dealer says no, to hell with them and order from another dealer. This is in Canada. Whats your opinion?

d@mn straight, if the dealer wants to tool around like that, I know it's not always there fault but sh!t if they say 12 weeks now it should be there by 12 weeks, tell them you want something for your time (free oil changes, tire rotations, etc...) they won't drop the price, I would almost bet on that, but oil changes and regular maintenance they can do for ya. If not tell them to fu*k off, and buy elsewhere

It's probably not the dealers fault, they won't get paid till the truck is delivered to your friend. She can't really expect extra options on the truck if the order has already been accepted by the factory. As for going elsewhere - she had to put down a deposit right?

Even though the dealer probably can't make the truck get there any faster if it were me I'd go to the dealer in a really bad mood and make a fuss. I'd keep getting louder until I got something out of it like the first half dozen oil changes or the first couple scheduled maint. free.

Tell her 'Good Luck!' for me.

Ask for status. It could be in some holding area with a problem that needs to be taken care of. Or they could have a part shortage, you never know.

I've been on the hook for 9 weeks. The status
from the dealer: " It's not here yet." That really
helps. Like I don't know that my a$$ isn't in
those new buckets. Just itchin to get that thing
off the lot.

I am the friend that ordered the truck.I just contacted them again yesterday and requested dates
Apparently it will be finished on June 19 and then shipped out, likely to arrive in July sometime. I told them I was not pleased with the service, they did not seem to care, in fact I sensed a bit of an attitude about it. I think at least an apology is in order.???

I think an @$$ chewing by you to them is in order. And I'm not kidding either...that is NOT cool. It's about time to start demanding stuff like free oil changes for life, etc.

Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
K&N FIPK
17" rims
And much, much more.....
