Forgive my ignorance, but someone posted a reply to a question I had about VIN numbers on a dodge dakota and said I could find one on the PCM. What is a PCM and where is it located?

I am the one that said you may find it on the PCM. I don't know for sure if it is on all of them, but some Dakota's have a sticker there with the VIN on it. The PCM is the underhood computer. I don't remember what year you said the truck was, but on '98-up Dakota's it is on the passenger wheelwell. It is mounted behind the airbox, is silver in color, with 3 large plugs going into it. The plugs are black, white, and gray. Let me know if you need anymore help.
