 Subject: Is "D" for Drive??

I started up my 2001 RC 4x4 Dak this morning. I put it in drive and nothing happened when I hit the gas, it just drifted down the driveway, I put it in park and then back into drive at it was fine. I know it was in drive the first time but it acted like it was in neutral. Any ideas???

Mine will do that too once in a while if im in a hurry and forget to actually push the shifter back twoards the dash even though the dial moved to D the tranny is still in neutral.

i have a problem with mine being in 2nd while it looks like it is in drive, all i know to tell ya is make sure you push the shifter back towards the dash like tj said

Thanks, that makes sense. I just got my Dak and it would really tick me off if something was wrong with it.

Okay, lets get serious. I haven't actually looked at the auto-tranny linkage, but it looks like you guys need to adjust it! In the past I have had cars that, occasionaly, especially when new, needed to have a linkage adjustment for aligning the actaul gears with the display.
