I have a 1994 Dakota CC with the mark III conversion magnum v-8. When I bought my truck the gas gauge didn't work, well kike an idiot I didn't say anything (because I just wanted to get my Dakota home). Anyways i was wanting to know does anybody know of any websites I can go to and find out how many gallons my tank will hold, or does anyone know the tank size on it. I would hate to run out my turck out of gas the side of the road is no place for a Dakota to be (unless pulling over to help a ford or chevy:)) anyways thanks

Jim

15 gal was standard and 22 was optional in 1994. You should ahev a low fuel warning light that comes on when you are running low on gas. 1/4 to 1/8 of a tank

In 94' a common problom was a bad gas gauge. I'm not sure if it was ever a recall though. I had mine replaced. It is a bad sender at the sending unit.If you have the 22 gallon tank you should be able to get close to 300 miles on a tank. That's what I normaly get.

Thanks DaveR I'll check into the sender and see if that is it.

Graphite my low fuel wrn light stays on to, so not to sure how much I have in their.

As for the tank sizes do you or anyone else know a website (or any other way for that matter) that I can find out for sure what size the tank is.

Thanks guy's

there is a warning light for low fuel but if it doesnt come on at about 1/8 tank full the bulb may be blown or problem with sending unit i see no fuse associated with just that sending device in my 94 dak manual.

95 had the same problem. Mine is still broke. Hate to spend $75.00 on a sending unit. I think Dodge knows about the problems, but don't care.
They just keep building truck year after year with the same problems like the rotors on the front.

I don't think there are any probloms with the gen III fuel gauges, just the gen II. If you figure out how much fuel you can get into it at a fill that should tell you how big the tank is (if you can get 18.7 gallons in it's 22 gallon tank or you have a leak). You could always just go fill up and use the Trip to figure out how much fuel you have, just fill up at about 250 miles to be safe.

I looked in my owners manual today and even popped out the instrument cluster to take a closer look. First of all my owners manual only shows me a low fuel light on the standard cluster and NOT the optional cluster that I have with the tach. Not too big of a deal to me but if somebody else with a gen II Dak with the tach in the cluster has this low fuel light could you please tell me where abouts it is when it does light up because i just dont see it.
Thanks

Jim, if you take your vin number to your local dealer, they can run a production sheet/list off the serial number. That would give you every spec, and production data on your truck from the radio option to the sport package. this will also give the fuel tank size it was built with. Hope this helps. Not being sarcastic ,but why don't you just get the gas guage fixed? with the low fuel light on solid, it's probubly the tank meter.( sending unit).
