Subject: Which wax to use??
IP: Logged

Message:
There's so much BS that goes around that this wax is better than that wax, but what's the bottom line from your own personal experience.

My truck needs a wax job and also repair some light scratches. I need help. Zaino Bros I've read and heard they're pretty good but they only do mail orders which I don't like. What about other like Meguiers, Mothers and Zymol????

Thanks
Anthony

A couple of the kids that work for me have the souped up hondas and toyotas and the like. ALways clean and very nice looking paint. I asked them, they said Mcguires or Mothers.... nothing else ever!.

That worked for me so far

I like the AMSOIL miracle wash, the AMSOIL
pro-formula polish, all of the polish and wax
products from MALCO and I just LOVE their CW-37
car wash whenever I can wash the truck with a hose
(the best wet wash on the market!!)

Anthony, I know of a great dealer for Zaino online that can answer ANY Zaino questions you have and he accepts PayPall. He also sells some excellent modified FieldCrest towels that no one can beat.

Here is a link I posted of a review about him that includes his contact info:

BTW, if you don't choose to go with the ordering way, I'd go with Maguires.

Lesley,

Where in Guelph?

Also what exactly is all the hype about the stuff anyways? Just wondering, I'm wanting to polish my (black) truck this weekend, its got alot of swirls in the paint, and a few light clearcoat scratches in the box side from my dog jumping out of the bed. Is this really the best stuff to use, also what's it worth??

Any help appreciated.

I got Zaino from the guy in Guelph. the service was quick and the shipping cost wasn't too bad. I just did my truck last weekend. It took me about 2 hours to Clay Bar my truck but it was the first time I had done it and my truck was covered with rust spots from those cheap metallic Dodge brakes. The prep coat, wax coat, and removal only took an hour. Here is the Canadian distributor:

Crown Auto Emporium Ltd.

All his prices are on the web site.

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for your input. I think I'll probably go with the Meguires 3 step system.
Does it apply and come off easy??
Also do I need a scratch remover polish? or does the 3 step system get rid of the light clearcoat scratches.

Thanks Again,
Anthony

It's not the wax that makes the difference. It's the number of coats!

Meguiers, Mothers, Zymol, and Zaino all do the job. Wax the car five times each within 24 hours of resting time and watch the color stand out.

Man use some Zymol!!!! I used it on my Black '97 Dakota- removed ALL swirl marks and fine stratches.

Meguires Gold Class is what I always used to use- but it always had bad swirl marks.

Man try the Zymol- its great stuff and all natural.

Anthony , try the Zymol. works great.I use it on my lupis blue 96 dakota 4x4 and on my wifes dark green (army as she calls it) metalic 95 cherokee. goes on easy and wipes off easy.you can straight line polish ,and leaves no marks. All natural polish. no petrolium products in it at all.I sell a tone of it at Auto zone. Tell my customers that if they don't like it, I would personaly buy the bottle back from them at full retail. nobodys brought any back yet....lasts ,and beads water fantastic. also ,its the first polish ive used in a reeeaaallll long time that i didnt have to wash my truck again when i was done to remove the wax dust. try it man , you'l like it!

I like Zymol, especially the smell :)
Actually, I usually use Meguiar's 3-step. I find
that the Meguiar's Gold Class takes a lot of
effort to buff off, sometimes it leaves a sort of
greasy feel to it. Zymol comes off a lot easier.
I've never tried Zaino but sure would like to.
I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews of it.

Id say NU FINISH is the way to go. Easy on easy off and it lasts quite a while. They say 1 application will last 1 yr but i do it every couple months anyway. Paint always looks nice and shinny.

After doing some research I found that Meguiars #9 Swirl remover/polish and #26 Pure carnnuba wax would provided the best protection/look. So this morning I went to my local auto store (crappy tire) to buy this stuff and a birthday present for me a 10" buffer. The only wax I found was the Meguiar 1-2-3 step system, which I had to settle for. I ended up spending $145(cdn) including buffer.

Thanks again for all your help,
Anthony
