My nightmare with my Dakota continues. I ordered a custom Dodge Dakota 4x4 and received it the beginning of this month. Within 4 days I noticed the back window leaked....no biggie Ill take it down and have it fixed. So I take my baby down to my dealer and the manage to take the paint off all the way around my window with a pry bar or something. So I take it down again and pitch a fit. They agree to fix it. I have had a rental car for two weeks now. I just went down to pick up my truck and guess what? The paint doesnt match...not even close. Even the dealer said it was not acceptable....but it gets worse...now there are scratches or swirls or something in the clear coat of my truck...all the way up to even the hood. I dont know why they did anything with the hood, fenders, etc but they must have done something because its all trashed.....what do I do? I am giving the dealer one more chance and then I am asking for a buy back....this is rediculous and I should not have to pay 30,000.00 for a truck with a screwed up paint job.

Luckily for me, sad to say also, I have never had to take my truck to the dealer, sure don't trust anyone with my ride, especially after hearing things like this.

I believe what they did is give you a "free" car wash after your service.
That is what ruined your paint (clearcoat). They did the same to me when the truck was delivered new. When I lookes at the truck before buying it was fine. After they cleaned it there were scratches everywhere.
I would DEMAND that the truck be fixed at a place of your choice.

Man you guys got to buy cars at better dealerships. I went through Massey-Yardley in S. Florida. They did me right. With as much time as yopu have had that truck in the shop it should be about lemon law time.

Personally, you need to go back and demand them to simply replace your truck. I worked at a dealership for several years and that is just plain unsatisfactory. The truck was not in that condition when you bought it, they are the ones who ruined it, they need to suck up their insignificance and replace your new truck with one that hasn't been trashed by the dealer.

My dealership has a policy of washing all vehicles after there in for service. I took mine in for warranty work awhile ago and while I was waiting they brought in a brand new Durango to wash. The clown picks up the brush that's laying on the floor bristle side down and sticks it in a bucket of filthy water that's probably been used for a dozen cars and washes this beautiful black SUV. I couldn't believe what this jerk did to some guys new ride. I told the manager to mark it on my work order to keep these idiots away from my truck and he couldn't understand why I wouldn't want a free wash.

Well this is their last chance at fixing it. If it is not right this time I am going to demand my truck be replaced. It has less than 500 miles on it and they have actually been in possession of it more than me since I got it. If they give me any slack I will simply contact my legal representatives and let them take care of it......I have bought probably 13 new cars in my life time and this is only the second major problem I had but it is also the first chrysler product I have ever purchased.

Find out who the District Manager is and get him/her involved. Thats what I did (wasn't going to deal with the Svc. manager) and everything went smoothly me for me. Dealerships don't like it when the DM gets involved.

They've made their money from you when you signed the title and the papers. Dealers are not likely to really care about you very much by now. Sorry to say that, but my impressions about dealers is they are profit motivated, which means your and I happiness falls farther and farther down their list of priorities.
