mdandl - that magenta looks incredible on your truck.

I'd go with the plum crazy purple. I think solar yellow is going away. (hopefully) ; )

Another vote for the Plum Crazy. Yellow seems to look great in the beginning but I've seen some really funky yellow New Beetles that don't look so hot anymore.

My Dad has a '94 Ranger (sorry) in Plum and it seems to have held up well.

I've had both and would go with the solar yellow. the plum crazy is nice too but don't confuse it with the ambe fire Dakota color, they are different. The plum crazy would look more custom on a Dakota but the Dakota solar yellow is the best yellow IMO. My mom has a yellow Beetle and it is lighter. My brother has a WRX in yellow and it is even lighter yet, almost butter. The solar yellow has some orange in it and looks good even in the bright sun. Then again my 71 Plymouth turned a lot of heads in plum crazy (technically In-violet was the name of the Plymouth color)!

If you want high impact I always thought the NITRO GREEN that came on late 90's Neons was an eye opener never seen it on a dak, would be pretty unique. I'm partial to the greens so I'd suggest the old "Sassy Grass Green" if you're going to dive into some 60's H.I.'s. Lastly if your wife really wants to set herself apart "Panther Pink."

If none of those sets her heart aflame just paint it blue and go back to sleep! (jk) 8-D

Isn't sassy grass a little gold looking? or am I thinking of tawney gold? Here are the high impact colors and years used with codes: I think the main names are the Dodge names and the names in () are the Plymouth names.

FC7 Plum Crazy metallic (In-violet) 70-71
FJ5 Sublime (Lime Light) 70 only
FJ6 Green Go (Sassy Grass Green) 70-71
EK2 Go Mango (Vitamin C) 69-70
FM3 Panther Pink (Moulon Rouge) 70 only
EV2 Hemi Orange (Tor Red) 69-71
FY1 Top Bannana (Lemon Twist) 70-71
GY3 Citron Yella (Curious Yellow) 71 only
EL5 Butterscotch (Bahama Yellow) 69-71

There are 68 different paint codes for the chrysler corp from 69-71, those were the years!

peggy-plumb purple!

a buddy and i used peggy-plumb purple to paint flames on a light blue rabbit (which happened to be the auto-teacher's daughter's car....which is another story all together)

(and yes peggy-plumb purple is a real colour in a real spray-paint can, with a picture of a fat fairy god-mother on it dressed in purple)
