 Subject: Dakota 4 banger to V8 swap

Is it any harder to swap a 4 banger to a V8 than it would be to put a V8 in a V6 truck?
Someone told me the crossmember's were different, so it wold be alot more involved.
Also will the manual tranny bolt up and hold V8 power?
I know a swap in a v6 is easy enough since the motors are mostly identical minus 2 cylinders.

From what I've seen posted before and what my mechanic has told me, you're better off just trading you're truck in.

The one thing I can tell you is that the tranny is the same tranny they use in a Ram 1500 on all dakotas, so that shouldn't be a problem.
and you might also wanna beef up the suspension due to the extra weight.
