I helped a friend use it... we pulled the plugs afterwards and they were fine so we re-installed them. It works pretty good for pinging. I think we found it at AutoZone, it is called "Deep Creep - Seafoam"

Sea Foam Definatly works!!!! I used it on an old Monte Carlo. The tranny wouldn't engage in Reverse..(Automatic) Put "Sea Foam" in the tranny let it sit running for 20-25 minutes, worked fine ever since!! I also use it in all the used vehicals I buy... change the oil, put "Sea Foam" in run it for a while, change the oil again. You'll be suprised how "sh!tty" your oil looks after 100 miles! It cleans out everything really well! I'm a true beleiver!!
(Never changed my plugs after using it) It won't hurt though...

The only thing to worry about with any of those "Engine Cleaners" is when there's really thick oil sludge (the stuff that you can peel from the lifter valley). If that's in there, don't run any engine cleaner at all. The "chips" that come off will try to run through the oil system (including the filter which will clog up rather quickly) and then may wreak havoc on the bearings.

I've heard that. Is that something to worry about if you are fairly meticulous in your oil changes?

As long as you change your oil on a regular basis...it shouldn't be.
