Hey when I get back from Bernd's (won't be able to go for another 2 weeks cause my heads are not finished), I will have a 500 HP monster....hehe. Well what I need input on is a special set of decals I am thinking of putting on my tail gate...I want to get an OEM Ford Lightning decal and get a custom vinyl decal that says "Killer". So on the tail gate it would read:
Lightning Killer...
What do ya'll think?

Ford already has a concept truck called the Lightning Rod. I saw it at the Toronto Auto Show, it has some pretty cool mods to it, cuda roll pan, nifty slash tail lights, billet grill, custom air dam.

I wouldn't go around with Lightning Killer on my tailgate because that would kinda make you a target. you would probably be able to beat a stock Lightning but there's lots of them out there that are build up. My neighbor has a 2000 with a Different pulley on the blower , Ladder Bars , drag radials , headers and 3" Dual exhaust with straightline mufflers and no cats , and when he's got 114 in it sprays it with a 175 horse shot. He's been telling me that it runs 11.50's and showed me his timeslips from Sat 4/20 and he ran a 11.47@122 and was told not to come back until he has at least a 6 point bar and 5 point harnesses. I hate fords but this thing is damn fast for a 4,800# truck.

Get the turbo system from Bernd and you could have a TTR/T ,twin turbo R/T. I guess you could get a SCR/T for supercharged.

And right under it maybe you could put one of those stickers of Calvin pissing on a Ford emblem!

Oh, and one other thing...
I definately recommend picking up a set up those new Yosemity Sam mudflaps that say "Back Off!". I get lots of compliments on mine.
Just let me know if you need any more tips on tricking out your rig. I've done a lot of research and have a bunch more great ideas!

I vote for nothing at all. If I had a fast truck, I'd want them to feel the unexpect defeat I believe all Lightning owners should feel!

Playing with your emblems is fun, i did it this weekend actually.
I had a thought and took off all the words on my SLT and the SLT so it says "KOTA" ...looks ok, but I'm not sure if I like it yet.
I've called toyota and have asked them if there is a "4.7" or "4.7L" emblem, but there is not.
Be creative, Lightning killer is just to..blah, over used. I once saw on old dodge with the sticker on the back that said "DODGE THIS" and I have always thought that was really cool.
A custom "TT R/T" logo would be pretty cool though..

I saw a sticker at a show a few weeks ago that said "Coyote Duster". Not quite fast enough for that sticker yet myself or the possible mistaken identity, but I did pick up a little roadrunner sticker for the back glass. Make sure to get rid of all those V8 badges.

Jim R/T- I am thinking (hoping) for almost 500HP or even a little over... I am not only getting ported and polished heads, but an M1 intake, 1.7 Roller Rockers, 24# injectors, Torque converter, and a Supercharger.... hehe
Tom- I am hoping on 2 weeks from today... Marty hasn't sent my heads yet and I haven't gotten the intake yet....

5pnt9ltrluv HotRod and TruckTread did articles last year on the R/T mods and nether did very well.The weakest link in the R/T is the trans.The 5.9 is just not a very good race engine.

Mills- I am getting around 12-13 right now..Sometimes even 15. The tonneau I have helps out a bit...
Jim- That's nice to know...especially when people have modded out the R/T's and beat many camaros and mustangs. Heck, I have beaten a few myself. And as far as I know, the 360 is a very capable motor. But hey, if I break it then I break it...

I have a friend with a 408 stroker, they estimate about 450 hp. (I'm guessing so don't hold me to that, give or take 25 hp.) And his tranny is still holding, they're waiting for it to start complaining though. The first thing to go was the rearend. I think it was it's first week at the drags in the burnout box. A whole lotta smoke and then the left tire just stopped. L/S was gone.
Go clean with the decals. Looks good and they'll wonder what happened when you leave 'em in the dust. The two coolest trucks I've seen on here are the totally(and I mean totally) unmarked Dak V10 and Diesel. Can you imagine the looks on people's faces when you tear up the strip and whoever is unlucky enough to be on the other side.
