Subject: Plastic caps in bed of QC?
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm getting a spray-in liner next week and I noticed that others had the spray-in right over the plastic pop-outs in the bed of their truck (3 caps, I think). I have pulled these little plastic caps out and can't figure what they are used for. You might think that they are used as "hold-down" holes, but they aren't laid out in sensible locations. Maybe they were there for manufacturing purposes. I don't know.

Does anyone know what and why these holes are in the bed and can I have the spray-in folks just spray right over them? (Note: with the spray in, the caps won't fit back into the holes.)

Thanks in advance...

If you're talking about the sort-of rubber/plastic oval-shaped thingies near the cab (and another solid one without a thing to hold onto near the tailgate), you can have them just spray over the one near the tailgate. As far as the ones near the cab (one on either side), I would recommend you have them pulled out and then spray, so that you can put them in. They WILL fit back in there. It's a fairly tight fit - have to wrestle them in there a tad - but they DO fit in there after sprayin. I have a Line-X sprayin bedliner, and they fit in fine. I think the two holes near the cab are where the bed bolts down onto the frame. I could be wrong, but I'm taking a wild-@$$ guess.

Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
K&N FIPK
17" rims
And much, much more...
